Cyberpunk 2077 is the first true "Strand type" game

December 9, 2020-Games JournalismKojima

Back in 2019, Hideo Kojima attempted to revolutionize the gaming industry by creating a new, genuine experience. Many people who have played Cyberpunk 2077 say that they experienced an entirely new strand of gameplay.

A strand type game is one that instead of dividing people, brings them together. Not with sticks, but with ropes. And over the past couple of days people have been unable to shut the fuck up about Cyberpunk, but they were unable to shut the fuck up together, and that's what makes it so special.

a cyberpunk fan who talked about the game so much that her mouth fell off

Positive or negative, spoiler filled or just vague ramblings, users across the globe have been endlessly discussing what is essentially thin air, and doing it non stop.

"I heard Cyberpunk 2077 causes seizures", "All the Games Journalists are raving about it", "I heard it's poorly optimized", "The game is filled with bugs"

Endless screams filled with second hand information, uninformed speculation, and people complaining that their physical copies that they ordered for some reason are not going to arrive in time. (even though they'll need to download a 50GB patch on day 1 anyways.)

"Guys, stop complaining about cyberpunk, the developers won't get their bonuses if you keep this up" - that one annoying guy in discord voicechat

My favorite intelligent discussion on the topic by far has been people talking about what Games Journalists think about the game, since of course, Games Journalists are professionals with very objectively good opinions, and are very in touch with the gamer crowd.
